Small things, big difference

More than you think can already happen in your own practice

Helping trans people isn't something that can only happen in specialized clinics; a lot is already possible in the GP practice. You likely already know the medications used for hormone therapy from treating menopausal symptoms and testosterone deficiency. In the webinar, you’ll see what you can take on yourself and how to make clear agreements with your patient and your practice.

frequently asked questions

Good to know

Do I already need experience with trans care?

No. We start with the basics: what gender incongruence is, where patients can go, and what they ask of their GP. After that, we dive into the medical content.

Am I allowed to prescribe hormone therapy as a GP?

Yes. The Hormone Therapy Guidelines for adults in primary care describe how to do it, which check-ups are required, and when it’s better to refer to a gender team. We will walk through those guidelines together.

Will I receive accreditation points?

We’ll take care of that. We are applying for accreditation for GPs. As soon as it’s finalized, we will let people on the interest list know how many points the webinar provides.

Is the webinar also for my practice team?

Certainly. Clear agreements with the POH, assistants, and the pharmacy make prescribing easier. Please indicate in the form approximately how many people you’ll be attending with.

Where can I go with questions after the webinar?

At our info point (infopunt@transineigenhand.nl), at SeksHAG's Ask the Expert, and at huisartsenzorgvoortransgender.nl.
